And the award goes to … CHI Health!
We know that when you hear the name, “CHI Health,” you probably think of the last hospital or clinic where you received care. But, along with the high-quality clinical care we provide, we are also dedicated to improving the overall health of the community. (Because, for example, the city’s top cardiovascular surgeons can only do so much when our children are learning unhealthy eating habits from the start)
Well, guess what? A committee of judges from the American Hospital Association believes that we are on the right path – and, this week, they officially named CHI Health a finalist of the Foster G. McGaw Prize for Excellence in Community Service!
The chair of the prize committee went so far as to call us a role model for other health systems across the country. But, of course, we couldn’t do any of this without community leaders and the staff at each of the five programs for which we were honored. They are:
- Live Well Omaha/Our Health Community
- Integrated School Mental Health
- OneWorld Community Health Center
- Faith Community Nursing Network
- Domestic Violence Coordinating Council
If you have time, please go out and learn more about these initiatives and everything they are doing to help the community!
