How common is depression in pregnancy? Although pregnancy is supposed to be a happy time for expectant mothers, many pregnant women suffer from depression during pregnancy. It is thought that about 7-10% of all pregnant women will experience depression during pregnancy. After pregnancy, it is even more common with about 20% of women suffering from postpartum depression and up to 70% of new moms suffering from baby blues.
